A major conspiracy to blow up the Ram Temple with a bomb has been uncovered, and a young man from Saharanpur has been taken into custody in connection with the case. The accused, Suhail, was detained from Davanagere in Karnataka by a joint team of the NIA and the ATS. Early investigation suggests Suhail was part of a plan to attack the Ram Temple and that his links extend all the way to Pakistan. His mobile phone has yielded Pakistani contact numbers, several suspicious WhatsApp groups and photos taken with weapons. Full details of the accused have also been shared with the UP Police.
Who Suhail Is and What He Did
Suhail is said to be originally from Lakhnauti village in the Gangoh police station area of Saharanpur. He had been living in Karnataka and working as a painter. On the surface he looked like an ordinary labourer, but he had quietly become part of a dangerous plot that no one around him had any inkling of.
Third Arrest in Karnataka Within 15 Days
With Suhail's arrest, he becomes the third terror suspect picked up in Karnataka over the past fortnight. According to police sources, the arrest was made on the basis of clues that emerged during the questioning of two suspects detained on June 4. Earlier, 22-year-old Zameer Khan was arrested from Davanagere and 24-year-old Alla Baksh from Tumkuru. However, Home Minister Priyank Kharge has ruled out any direct connection between Suhail's arrest and the two suspects held on June 4. He said the police are examining every aspect of the matter closely.
Pakistan Links Built Through Social Media
Davanagere Superintendent of Police HT Shekhar said Suhail's ties were traced to terror outfits based in Pakistan. He said, “The initial investigation has revealed that he was in touch with terrorists through social media. This case appears similar to the one that surfaced in Tumkuru district, but more evidence will be gathered to confirm the facts. We have also received information that a group of 10 people has entered Karnataka. That too is being investigated.”
What the Phone Revealed
According to police officials, during questioning Suhail admitted that he had discussed a plan to attack the Ram Temple. Investigating agencies claim his phone contained photographs of him posing with weapons. Beyond that, the phone also held contact numbers carrying Pakistan's country code and some audio clips in which he is allegedly heard talking about an attack on the Ram Temple. Agencies are now using this evidence to trace the conspiracy back to its roots.
