A shocking case has come to light in the Veer Nagar locality under the Crossing Republic police station area of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, where a minor quarrel inside a house is alleged to have turned so violent that two brothers ended up killing their own parents. News of the incident spread through the neighbourhood within minutes, leaving residents stunned.
How the argument turned violent
According to police, Gangasharan and his wife Vimlesh, residents of Veer Nagar, got into an argument with their two sons, Deepak and Lalit, over some issue. What initially looked like an ordinary family disagreement escalated within moments, as the anger of both sons reportedly spiralled out of control. The brothers, Deepak and Lalit, are accused of repeatedly attacking their parents with heavy household items and sticks kept at home. Neighbours who heard the couple's cries for help rushed to the spot, but by the time they arrived, Gangasharan and Vimlesh had already collapsed on the ground, badly bleeding.
Police rush couple to hospital, both declared dead
As soon as the incident came to light, local residents wasted no time in alerting the police through the Dial-112 emergency service. A team from Crossing Republic police station reached the spot without delay. The critically injured couple was rushed to the nearest hospital in an attempt to save their lives, but doctors declared both Gangasharan and Vimlesh dead due to severe injuries to the head and body. The police subsequently took custody of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. Officers at the scene lost no time in detaining the accused sons, Deepak and Lalit, for questioning, and as the investigation progressed, the two were formally arrested.
DCP says every angle being probed
Surendra Nath Tiwari, DCP of Ghaziabad's Rural Zone, briefing on the case said the accused sons, Deepak and Lalit, have been taken into custody and are being thoroughly interrogated. He said the actual reason behind the killing is being ascertained and further legal action is being taken as per procedure. He added that every aspect of the case is being closely examined so that the guilty can be punished at the earliest.
Fear grips locality as property dispute angle also examined
Following the tragic incident, an atmosphere of fear and unease has gripped the Veer Nagar locality. Neighbours say they still find it hard to believe that a minor dispute could turn so horrific. For now, police are looking into both the domestic discord within the family and a possible property-related dispute, in an effort to establish exactly why the two sons allegedly killed their own parents.
