On the occasion of Independence Day 2026, Inspector General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S has been conferred with the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Heading the Airport Sector, the senior officer was chosen for this prestigious national honor in recognition of his 19 years of unblemished policing and significant contributions to public service.
Academic Credentials and Technical Expertise
Hailing from Tamil Nadu, Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S is widely recognized for combining core administrative policing with a strong background in technology. He earned his BE degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore. Subsequently, he completed his Master's degree in Police Management from Osmania University. To further strengthen his technical capabilities in digital security, he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Security from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Innovation Management from IIT Roorkee.
Key Roles in Uttarakhand Police and Cyber Security Contributions
Prior to joining CISF on central deputation, Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S built an outstanding track record in the Uttarakhand Police. During his tenure in the state, he served as Senior Superintendent of Police in key districts including Nainital, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar. Following his promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General, he held leadership positions as Commandant of the Indian Reserve Battalion and headed the Special Task Force, Vigilance Department, and the State Intelligence Department.
His engineering background played a major role in modernizing the Uttarakhand Police infrastructure. He was instrumental in rolling out the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems across the state. Furthermore, he significantly enhanced the state's cyber forensics capabilities and played a vital role in successfully responding to a major cyber attack on the Uttarakhand State Data Center. In recognition of these achievements, he was awarded the Chief Minister's Meritorious Service Medal in 2022, followed by the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023.
Deputation to CISF and Leadership of the Airport Sector
In February 2025, Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S joined CISF on central deputation in the rank of DIG. In this role, he oversaw security management at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport alongside the broader Airport Sector. On June 13, 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Inspector General. Soon after, on July 16, 2025, he officially assumed charge as Inspector General of the CISF Airport Sector, overseeing aviation security operations across the country.
