A daughter in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district is waging a relentless battle to bring her father back to his homeland after a painful separation lasting eight years. Indramani Nautiyal has remained stranded overseas due to heavy financial and legal penalties arising from an unfortunate accident. His daughter, Deepika, has been making heartfelt public appeals for financial assistance, a call that has steadily resonated across nearby communities where local residents are stepping forward to help according to their means.
Road Mishap Followed by a Fine of Over Two Crore Rupees
Indramani Nautiyal's ordeal began eight years ago when he was involved in a road traffic collision while driving overseas. Following the incident, local authorities slapped a staggering penalty of roughly 2 crore 21 lakh rupees on him. For a modest family from the hills of Uttarakhand, gathering such an astronomical sum through private savings was impossible. Because the fine remained unpaid, Indramani could not secure his travel clearance and has spent nearly a decade waiting to see his home again.
Community Rallies to Collect 1 Crore 80 Lakh Rupees
Recognizing the family's deep distress, well-wishers and community members launched a fundraising effort to resolve the legal debt. Through sustained contributions, supporters have managed to collect approximately 1 crore 80 lakh rupees so far. Even with this substantial sum in hand, the family still faces a shortfall of around 40 to 50 lakh rupees. They are pushing ahead with fundraising in the hope of bridging this remaining gap quickly so that Indramani's prolonged separation can finally end.
Lodada Village and Local Youth Forum Step Forward
Demonstrating collective solidarity, the residents of Lodada gram panchayat joined hands with the Yuva Pragati Manch to raise funds for the cause. Through collective giving, the villagers gathered a sum of 33,651 rupees and delivered it directly to Indramani Nautiyal's household. Representatives from the village affirmed that the family will not be left to bear this hardship alone and promised continued support until the issue is resolved.
Deepika Urges Continued Assistance
Deepika continues to appeal to citizens and welfare groups, stressing that even modest donations can create a massive difference when pooled together. Describing her father's long predicament abroad, she noted that every single contribution helps advance the effort to pay the legal penalty and ensure his safe return. With about 40 to 50 lakh rupees still left to clear, the family is hoping for swift public compassion to close this eight-year ordeal.
