A shocking incident of crime has emerged from the Howrah district of West Bengal, where a father stands accused of killing his second grade daughter. According to allegations made by the family, the accused waited for an opportune moment after his wife departed for her parents place along with the children. Taking advantage of the situation, the father reportedly went to his daughter school, pulled her out before classes ended, and brought her back home. Shortly after, the young girl was found in a critical condition, triggering shock and panic across the neighborhood.
Doctors Declare Young Girl Dead on Arrival
The tragedy took place in the Salap Tetulkuli locality under the jurisdiction of the Domjur area in Howrah. Upon discovering the child in a deteriorating state, she was rushed to the Howrah Hospital for urgent medical attention. However, attending medical officers pronounced her dead on arrival. Following the declaration by the medical staff, the Howrah police station authorities swung into action and arrested the accused father, identified as Anup Mondal. He was taken into custody for immediate interrogation.
Allegations of Longstanding Abuse and Domestic Discord
The maternal uncle of the deceased child has leveled serious allegations against the father, claiming that he had been mistreating the girl ever since her birth. Relatives alleged that after the birth of a son in the family, the father began formulating a plan to eliminate the daughter. The maternal side also alleged that the accused frequently harbored doubts regarding his wife character, which fuelled persistent resentment towards the young girl. The accused works professionally as a Food Technologist.
Forensic Examination and Investigation Details
Family members claimed that the father used a mosquito net rope to strangle the child before suspending her body. However, law enforcement officials have clarified that the precise cause of death remains to be legally confirmed. The body of the deceased child has been sent for a comprehensive post-mortem examination at the state facility. Police noted that conclusive evidence regarding homicide will depend on the final autopsy report and forensic findings.
Accused Denies Charges as Police Interrogate Family
During preliminary questioning in police custody, Anup Mondal denied all allegations leveled against him, calling the accusations completely baseless.
