Reflecting on human helplessness in the face of natural disasters, he offered prayers for the people of Nepal during this grave crisis, emphasizing that winning a battle against the wrath of nature is simply beyond human capability.

Amitabh Bachchan voiced serious concern over the catastrophic tragedy unfolding in Nepal. Through his official blog, he shared heartfelt condolences for the affected families, noting that watching the visuals of devastation pouring in from the region is profoundly distressing. On Saturday, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan, he initially posted a photograph of colorful rakhis tied around his wrist, writing about the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. Shortly afterward, however, he shifted focus to the unfolding catastrophe in Nepal to voice his anguish.
Prarthana Beyond All Boundaries
Addressing the grim situation on his blog, he wrote that witnessing the destruction caused by floods in Nepal is unbearable. He added that one can never fight the fury of nature, requiring the presence of the divine to navigate such forces. Stressing the power of faith, he noted that prayer transcends everything, accompanied by love and care. He underlined that coping with such monumental forces requires humility rather than defiance.
The Bhote Koshi River Disaster and Casualties
On August 26, a sudden and ferocious flood struck the Bhote Koshi river region in Nepal, causing widespread devastation. Triggered by a glacier collapse, the resulting torrents of water and debris wrecked homes, roads, bridges, and critical hydropower infrastructure across multiple areas. By Saturday, the death toll in Nepal climbed to 626, with a large number of individuals still reported missing. Information released by Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that several foreign nationals are missing in the Bhote Koshi flood zone. The official list records 178 Indian citizens, out of whom 11 have been located while 167 remain missing.

Amitabh Bachchan is not the only prominent figure from the film industry to express anguish over the crisis in Nepal.
