The traditional donation boxes at the renowned Shri Shanimaharaj Aali Dham pilgrimage centre in the Kapasan subdivision of Chittorgarh district have been opened for the monthly tally. The counting of currency notes offered by visiting devotees reached 19,41,755 rupees. According to the temple trust and administrative management committee, this figure represents currency notes alone, as the counting of coins remains underway. The final and consolidated donation figure for the current month will be declared once the coin tabulation concludes.
The Monthly Tradition of Opening Temple Vaults on Chaturdashi
This revered pilgrimage centre in the Kapasan region observes an enduring ritual of unsealing its donation vaults every month on Chaturdashi, the day immediately preceding Amavasya. On Saturday, following elaborate ceremonial rituals, formal aarti, and the chanting of Vedic hymns dedicated to Lord Shani Dev Maharaj, the vaults were unlocked in the presence of the core administrative committee. Devotional offerings were gathered from collection boxes placed across the central temple complex, the Navgraha shrine, and near the consecrated oil reservoir.
Strict Security Oversaw Note Counting as Coin Sorting Begins
The counting process for the collected funds commenced under tight security arrangements and direct supervision by temple office-bearers. By late night, the team completed the tallying of paper currency notes, recording a total of 19,41,755 rupees. Immediately following this phase, the segregation and manual tallying of metallic coins commenced. Constant oversight is being maintained across all stages of the process to ensure complete administrative transparency.
A Focal Point of Devotion Across the Mewar Region
Shri Shanimaharaj Aali Dham commands immense religious reverence throughout Chittorgarh and the broader Mewar landscape. Every month on Amavasya, thousands of pilgrims from across Rajasthan and other parts of India travel to the shrine to seek blessings and offer consecrated oil to Lord Shani Dev. Believers maintain that performing ceremonial worship and pouring oil here alleviates life difficulties and personal distress. Driven by this deep faith, devotees contribute lakhs of rupees in cash offerings and substantial quantities of mustard oil each month.
