Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has emphasized the urgency of modernizing the state's administrative framework to make public services more efficient, accessible, and responsive. Speaking during a high-level review at Lok Bhavan on Friday, he pointed out that government machinery must evolve constantly to match the growing expectations of citizens and the complex operational demands of modern governance.
Focus on Last-Mile Delivery and Digitalization
The Governor met with Pramod Jain, Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh Administrative Reforms Commission, to review ongoing measures and evaluate proposed strategies for institutional reform. During their discussions, Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik called for administrative reforms that are practical, people-centric, and future-ready. He noted that the unique geographical terrain of Arunachal Pradesh presents distinct administrative challenges, requiring an agile and adaptable delivery system. To bridge these physical barriers, he urged officials to embrace data-driven governance and accelerate the adoption of digital technologies, particularly across rural and remote border regions.
Strengthening Grassroots Institutions and Transparency
Highlighting the core principles of effective governance, the Governor advocated for participatory and decentralized decision-making processes. He stressed that empowering grassroots institutions is essential for enabling local communities to play an active role in policy implementation. According to an official statement issued after the meeting, the discussion focused on bolstering transparency, sharpening administrative accountability, and ensuring the timely delivery of public welfare initiatives. By shifting toward an outcome-based administrative model, the state aims to ensure that development benefits reach every resident effectively.
