Kia India established a historic high in its domestic operations by delivering 32,017 vehicles in September 2026. This performance marks a 41 percent surge compared to the 22,700 units dispatched during the corresponding month last year, representing the automaker's highest monthly volume since entering the Indian market. The milestone also reflects sequential growth of roughly 10 percent over August 2026, when despatches stood at 29,042 units.
Strong Quarterly Momentum and Nine-Month Growth
During the third quarter of 2026, Kia achieved aggregate sales of 89,259 units, showing a 38.5 percent jump over the identical period from the previous year. Looking at the cumulative nine-month window from January to September 2026, despatches reached 2,53,008 units, an expansion of 22.5 percent against the prior year's numbers. A combination of established volume drivers and newly introduced powertrain choices helped maintain steady showroom traffic across regions.
Seltos and Sonet Anchor Overall Volumes
The primary foundation of this volume surge remained the Seltos and Sonet. The Seltos sustained strong market demand, averaging monthly sales in excess of 10,000 units since January. Simultaneously, the Sonet held onto a firm standing within the competitive sub-compact SUV category, providing a steady baseline of customer interest alongside its larger sibling.
Portfolio Expansion Through CNG, EVs, and Sorento
Wider portfolio additions contributed noticeably to the expanded volumes. Models including the Carens, Carens Clavis, Clavis EV, Syros EV, and the new Sorento offered in both diesel and hybrid trims added meaningful traction. The company expanded buyer options further during September by introducing CNG variants for both Carens and Carens Clavis, alongside commencing initial customer deliveries for the new Sorento.
Powertrain Strategy Meets Shifting Buyer Demand
Reflecting on the quarterly and monthly results, Kia India Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Atul Sood stated that the strong performance mirrors buyer trust and portfolio strength. He credited the Seltos and Sonet as the primary contributors to this growth trajectory. Sood highlighted that the company remains dedicated to catering to evolving buyer requirements across petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid, and fully electric configurations.
