Toyota Kirloskar Motor witnessed a downturn in delivery volumes during September 2026 across both retail and overseas channels. The automaker delivered 25,027 vehicles in the domestic Indian market throughout the month. When measured against the 27,089 units dispatched during September 2025, domestic dispatches slipped by 7.61 percent. Sequential momentum also eased considerably, with September numbers dropping 11.91 percent compared to August 2026, representing an outright decline of 3,383 vehicles. Across combined operations, total dispatches including foreign shipments reached 28,218 units, translating to a 9.24 percent contraction from the 31,091 units recorded in September 2025.
Dispatches Across Local Showrooms and Export Hubs
Overseas shipments faced notable contraction alongside local showroom dispatches. Export volumes dropped by 20.26 percent in September 2026 to 3,191 units, down from the 4,002 vehicles exported in September 2025. Across the entire drop in overall monthly dispatches, the slowdown within the domestic territory accounted for approximately 72 percent of the volume decrease.
Consolidated results for the second quarter also reflected this moderation. During the July to September 2026 quarterly cycle, Toyota moved 93,576 vehicles across combined domestic and foreign markets. This total landed 4.42 percent below the 97,902 units distributed during the corresponding three-month stretch in 2025. Export consignments experienced a sharp decline of 22.09 percent over the same quarterly period.
Nine-Month Cumulative Performance Retains Growth
Despite the monthly and quarterly slowdown, Toyota maintained positive year-to-date momentum over the broader calendar period. Total vehicle deliveries across January to September 2026 climbed 8.10 percent to reach 2,94,914 units. That represents an absolute gain of 22,090 vehicles over the volume posted during the matching nine-month window last year. Domestic dispatches over these nine months rose 9.12 percent to hit 2,69,619 units, offsetting a minor contraction observed in exports.
Festive Customer Engagement and Product Launch Strategy
Evaluating customer response across product categories, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, noted that buyer interest stayed steady across diverse market segments during September. Looking ahead, the company is coordinating closely with dealer partners to amplify customer engagement programs across the festive window. In addition, an updated Glanza is scheduled to launch later this month, which the automaker expects will assist in reviving delivery volumes.
