A woman in Bihar's Kishanganj district has accused a local Nagar Panchayat chief's representative of raping her after luring her and her family out on the pretext of resolving a dispute. According to her complaint filed at the Pauakhali police station, the accused, Ahmad Hussain, better known in the area as Lallu Mukhiya, forced her into a hotel room, assaulted her and then raped her. Police have registered a case and begun investigating the allegations.
Family picked up under the guise of settling a dispute over her daughter
The woman told police that on the night of July 28, she, her husband and her daughter were picked up in a vehicle on the pretext that a dispute involving her daughter needed to be resolved through a panchayat meeting. During the journey, the accused allegedly slipped an intoxicant to her husband, leaving him completely unconscious. With the husband incapacitated, the accused reportedly took the woman and her daughter to a hotel in Kishanganj.
Daughter targeted first, then the mother raped
According to the complaint, the accused first attempted to rape the daughter inside the hotel room. When that attempt failed, the daughter was sent to a separate room, after which the accused raped the woman. She has alleged that when she resisted, she was threatened with death, and that the accused later tried to buy her silence by offering five lakh rupees.
A history of unresolved complaints against Lallu Mukhiya
This is not the first time serious allegations have surfaced against Lallu Mukhiya. He has previously faced cases involving celebratory firing, liquor being recovered from his vehicle, and threatening a journalist. Each time, however, he has managed to secure bail from the court, a pattern that has fuelled growing anger against him among local residents.
Woman demands swift arrest and protection for her family
In her application, the woman said the accused wields considerable influence and has continued to threaten her since the incident. She has asked police to arrest him quickly and to ensure security for her family. Police have registered case number 120/2026 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and say legal proceedings are underway. Since the case came to light, there has been strong public anger in the area against the Nagar Panchayat chief's representative.
