A massive bomb explosion occurred on Sunday near the Naukadha dam in the Maker police station area of Saran district, triggering panic across the region. The perpetrators targeted the 'Chandel Kirana Store', causing extensive damage and leaving the structure in ruins. The blast claimed the life of 30-year-old Sachin Kumar, who died at the scene under suspicious circumstances, while Akhilesh Kumar sustained critical injuries. Following emergency medical stabilization, he was transported to a hospital in Patna for advanced treatment.
Police and FSL teams investigate the scene
Upon receiving notification of the incident, personnel from the Maker police station arrived immediately, cordoned off the area, and launched a comprehensive investigation. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the DIG of the Saran Range, Nilesh Kumar, personally visited the site to oversee the response. The explosion was so powerful that the sound carried for a significant distance, creating an atmosphere of terror among the local population. Specialized units, including a bomb disposal squad and a Forensic Science Lab (FSL) team, were deployed to collect vital evidence from the wreckage.
DIG emphasizes thorough investigation
DIG Nilesh Kumar took direct charge of the investigation upon his arrival. The local police have sealed the entire perimeter of the blast site. In a briefing, the DIG stated that investigations are currently in the initial stages, with all potential angles being explored. He noted that definitive clarity regarding the motive behind the attack and the identity of the assailants would only emerge after the completion of a formal investigation and the analysis of forensic findings. Police efforts are currently focused on identifying the suspects and determining the precise cause of the violent act.
