A shocking case of domestic conflict came to light in Baramati, Maharashtra, where a woman allegedly plotted to murder her husband and bury his body inside their residence. The victim, Pravin Prakash Jagtap, works as an employee at Bharat Forge. His life was saved after a timely anonymous call made to the emergency number Dial 112 alerted authorities and foiled the gruesome conspiracy before it could be executed.
Anonymous Helpline Call Intercepts Murder Plan
According to police details, 41-year-old Pravin Prakash Jagtap had been experiencing severe marital disputes with his 38-year-old wife, Sharmila Pravin Jagtap, over the past few days. The couple has been married for nearly ten years and has two young children, a 10-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter. Investigations revealed that the accused allegedly planned to kill her husband and bury him permanently within the house. However, an unexpected tip-off received on Dial 112 allowed law enforcement officers to intervene immediately and prevent the tragedy.
Police Register Case Under BNS at Baramati Station
Following the disclosure, the victim's father, 71-year-old Prakash Kanhoba Jagtap, residing in Dhakale village under Baramati taluka, approached the authorities to lodge an official complaint. Based on his statement, the Baramati City Police Station registered Crime No. 313/2026 under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complaint names his daughter-in-law, Sharmila Pravin Jagtap, a resident of Flat No. 9, Indraprastha Society on Jamdar Road, Baramati, as the accused in the matter.
