The Officers Training Academy in Gaya, Bihar is set to host its 29th Passing Out Parade on September 5, commissioning 254 new officers into the Indian Army. Following months of rigorous physical, academic, and tactical preparation, these cadets will officially graduate to join active service. The graduating batch comprises 219 male cadets from the Short Service Commission Technical 65th course and 35 female cadets from the Women 36th course, reflecting the growing presence of women in key technical branches of the armed forces.
Lieutenant General Le Van Huong of Vietnam to Attend as Chief Guest
The ceremony will carry international significance as Lieutenant General Le Van Huong of the Vietnam People's Army serves as the chief guest for the main parade on September 5. On the eve of the parade, September 4, a major Multi Activity Display is scheduled at Lakshmibai Stadium in Gaya. The event will feature a performance by the Indian Army symphony band, alongside live demonstrations of traditional martial arts and athletic arts including Mallakhamb, Kalaripayattu, and Gatka.
Parents to Be Honored with Gaurav Padak
In line with academy tradition, the institution will conduct the Gaurav Padak ceremony to recognize the families of the graduating cadets. During this event, parents who have dedicated their sons and daughters to military service for the nation will be formally honored with commemorative medals in appreciation of their support and sacrifice.
Cadets Recognized at Commandant Award Ceremony
Ahead of the final passing out parade, the academy hosted the Commandant Award Ceremony on September 1. Lieutenant General Sandeep Singh, Commandant of the Officers Training Academy, presented awards and commendations to cadets who achieved exceptional standards in academics, physical training, and military tactics. In addition to individual cadet awards, performance trophies were presented to various companies for overall excellence during the training cycle.
