The authorities initiated rapid maneuvers within 24 to 48 hours of learning about the offense. Initially, three suspects were apprehended, followed quickly by an armed encounter in which the prime accused was captured and taken into custody. The survivor's mother expressed relief over how swiftly the officers moved to secure the perpetrators.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary assured the family of full state backing, prioritizing the security, welfare, and educational future of the survivor. According to the mother, the Chief Minister remarked that the young girl is like his own daughter, extending a firm guarantee that justice will be delivered without compromise. Recounting the agonizing details of the assault, the victim's mother stated that no other child should ever undergo the trauma inflicted upon her daughter. She remembered how her daughter was desperately pleading for mercy while being attacked by the accused. The mother insisted that those criminals should now be made to plead before the law, emphasizing that strict deterrent measures must be enforced so that fear of legal consequences is firmly instilled in antisocial elements.
The Attack Occurred While Returning from Coaching Classes
The distressing crime took place on September 19 when two minors were returning home after attending their coaching classes. They were confronted along their commute by the culprits, who assaulted them. Later, a video depicting the incident circulated on various social media platforms, sparking intense public fury and widespread demands for accountability.
Arrest of Prime Accused Nandan Yadav After Encounter
Superintendent of Police in Jamui, Vishwajeet Dayal, had earlier stated that law enforcement became aware of the assault on September 21 through the viral video footage. Following the revelation, an FIR was immediately registered, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to track down everyone involved. Bihar Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) K.S. Anupam subsequently confirmed that after the initial arrest of three suspects, the prime accused Nandan Yadav and his associates were apprehended following an encounter.
