The Municipal Council of Mughalsarai in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh is set to receive a new state-of-the-art administrative headquarters. A multi-storey office complex will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 8.80 crore on the land previously occupied by the old Fire Brigade station. Construction work officially commenced on Friday following the ritual ground-breaking ceremony and foundation stone laying. Once completed, this multi-storey structure will bring all civic departments under a single roof, significantly reducing inconvenience for local residents seeking municipal services.
Relief from Aging Infrastructure and Space Constraints
The existing office of the Mughalsarai Municipal Council has grown extremely outdated and dilapidated over the decades. Severe space constraints at the current building routinely hampered the efficiency of municipal officials and staff while causing persistent hassles for visiting citizens. To permanently resolve these administrative challenges, local authorities identified the vacant land of the old Fire Brigade campus for the new project. Construction and Design Services (C&DS) has been designated as the execution agency responsible for building the facility within specified quality guidelines.
Dedicated Departmental Rooms and Conference Auditorium
Detailing the structural plan, Mughalsarai MLA Ramesh Jaiswal stated that the new building will house every key municipal department. The floor layout features dedicated cabins for the Chairman, senior administrative officers, and individual staff sections. The design focuses heavily on public accessibility so that residents applying for birth certificates, paying municipal taxes, or registering civic grievances can navigate the facility without difficulty. Furthermore, a spacious conference auditorium is included in the project plan to host official reviews, administrative meetings, and public grievance hearings.
Elevators, Power Infrastructure, and Modern Amenities
The proposed multi-storey structure is designed to be fully inclusive and equipped with modern technological features. To assist senior citizens, women, and persons with disabilities in accessing upper levels, elevator facilities will be installed. To ensure uninterrupted electricity, dedicated transformer and power management infrastructure have been integrated into the primary project budget. Clean drinking water facilities, a specialized computer server room, and ergonomic workspaces are also planned to streamline daily administrative operations.
Dedicated Vehicle Parking and Enhanced Civic Environment
To eliminate traffic bottlenecks around the administrative building, an extensive vehicle parking area has been incorporated into the master plan. MLA Ramesh Jaiswal noted that proper parking arrangements will accommodate vehicles belonging to visiting citizens, staff, and municipal officials alike. Municipal Council Chairman Representative Shamshad described the initiative as a major milestone for urban infrastructure in Mughalsarai, emphasizing that the modern work environment will boost staff morale and deliver superior civic governance to local residents.
