Political friction in Bihar has intensified significantly following the decision of the Janata Dal United to expel Mokama MLA Anant Singh from the party for a duration of six years. Shortly after this disciplinary measure, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav stepped forward to react strongly, stating that legislators who switched sides during the earlier trust vote are now witnessing the harsh fallout of their choices.
Tejashwi Yadav Targets Rebel Lawmakers
Recalling the contentious floor test in the state assembly, Yadav pointed out, "When the trust vote was underway, our three MLAs including Neelam Devi, Anand Mohan's son, and Prahlad Yadav were breaking ranks." He stated that they were explicitly forewarned back then about how time would reveal the true cost of backing the ruling camp. Pointing to current circumstances, Yadav observed that Anand Mohan remains distressed, Prahlad Yadav was denied an election ticket, and the ongoing ordeal confronting Anant Singh is visible to everyone. He asserted that betrayal against the party was cautioned against earlier and has now unfolded as predicted.
Accusations Involving the Ruling Coalition
Yadav also revisited his earlier political forecasts regarding the ruling alliance and Nitish Kumar's leadership. He stated that he had previously predicted Nitish Kumar would be removed from the Chief Minister's post within 100 days after the elections. Asserting that the Janata Dal United is heading toward internal collapse, he remarked that the party is now mired in factional infighting and severe discord.
Escalating Administrative Measures Against the Family
The punitive actions surrounding Anant Singh have expanded beyond party suspension. The state unit president of the Janata Dal United visited the legislative assembly to pursue the cancellation of Singh's assembly membership, demanding swift proceedings. Concurrently, his wife Neelam Devi has been stripped of her Minister of State rank and served an eviction notice to vacate her official government bungalow. Amid the conspicuous silence of senior leaders Sanjay Jha and Lalan Singh, the developments have placed the political prospects of the family and his sons in serious uncertainty.
