Indian carrier Akasa Air has marked its commercial entry into Rajasthan by launching direct flight operations connecting Jaipur with Mumbai and Bengaluru starting October 11. The move strengthens interstate domestic connectivity, offering business and leisure flyers direct routing between the state capital and two key metropolitan hubs. In addition to the launch in Jaipur, the airline announced that its Rajasthan route footprint will broaden further on October 15 with scheduled operations commencing from Udaipur. The inaugural service between Jaipur and Bengaluru takes off on Sunday at 11:30 AM, completing its journey at 2:00 PM.
Tapping Jaipur's Matured Tourism and Commercial Potential
Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Akasa Air, stated that adding Rajasthan represents a natural progression for the carrier's broader network expansion plans. Srinivasan noted that Jaipur possesses a mature and highly diversified tourism landscape that consistently draws varied travel demographics. By establishing direct air links with Mumbai and Bengaluru, the airline aims to address the travel requirements of tourists, corporate commuters, and regional flyers through convenient timing slots.
Daily Flight Schedules and Operational Timings
Srinivasan highlighted that the airline remains focused on strengthening its footprint across Rajasthan and giving flyers greater scheduling flexibility. As detailed in the operational schedule, the daily Mumbai-Jaipur service departs Mumbai at 9:10 AM and lands in Jaipur at 11:10 AM, with the return leg taking off from Jaipur during the afternoon hours. Meanwhile, the inbound Bengaluru-Jaipur flight arrives in Jaipur at 10:50 AM, with the return service departing Jaipur at 11:30 AM.
Earlier Network Adjustments Across Noida International Airport
The launch in Rajasthan follows a series of recent domestic route adjustments rolled out by Akasa Air from Noida International Airport in Jewar. On October 1, the carrier initiated direct services connecting Noida to Kolkata and Bengaluru. Concurrently, the airline discontinued its daily service from Noida to Mumbai on September 30, bringing an end to that specific direct routing. To serve the Mumbai metropolitan region, Akasa Air introduced a direct daily link from Noida to Navi Mumbai on October 1, which departs Noida International Airport at 11:00 AM and arrives at Navi Mumbai Airport at 1:15 PM.
