Police in Dausa district, Rajasthan, have solved the brutal murder case of Rahul alias Bhanu Meena, who died under suspicious circumstances on August 15 in the Mandawar police station area. Following a comprehensive 15-day investigation, law enforcement officers unravelled a calculated conspiracy and named three individuals, including a woman. The arrested male suspects have been identified as Suresh alias Surra and Shersingh alias Sheru, both residents of Khokhar, while the arrested woman was subsequently granted bail by the court. Although the case initially appeared to be a straightforward homicide driven by past enmity, detailed probing exposed an entirely different narrative. Investigators revealed that Rahul had broken into a house to commit theft alongside his two companions, but after he sustained severe electric shocks from a security wire, his associates strangled him to death and transported his corpse nearly three kilometers away to mislead investigators.
Electrocution During Theft and Cold-Blooded Murder
Providing details of the incident, Mahwa DSP Anoop Singh stated that Rahul Meena had infiltrated a house in Kishorpur village, under Mandawar jurisdiction, along with his two accomplices, Suresh and Shersingh, with the intention of committing theft. To prevent break-ins, the property owner had installed an electrified security fence around the premises. Upon attempting to enter, Rahul accidentally touched the live wire and was critically injured by the high-voltage electric shock. Instead of rendering medical assistance or taking him to a hospital, his companions decided to eliminate him. The accomplices tied a chunni (scarf) around his neck, strangled him, and bound his legs securely.
After committing the murder, the accused dragged Rahul's body across a distance of approximately three kilometers to Khedli Kala village. They then dumped his corpse inside a bajra (millet) field. The entire setup was designed to confuse law enforcement authorities and present the crime scene as either an accidental death or an outcome of a personal feud.
Plot to Frame an Innocent Resident Using Past Feud
During the investigation, police uncovered a critical piece of information: just two days prior to the incident, Rahul had engaged in a heated argument with a local resident named Chetram Meena. The perpetrators were well aware of this altercation and attempted to leverage it to divert police attention away from themselves. The accused intentionally discarded Rahul's body near Chetram's residence so that primary suspicion would fall upon Chetram, thereby derailing the police inquiry.
In the initial phase of the investigation, police scrutinized both Chetram and the detained woman. However, rigorous forensic evaluation and interrogation cleared Chetram of any involvement in the killing. Furthermore, investigators confirmed that the arrested woman had no direct active role in the murder execution, leading to her release on bail by the court.
Inter-State Police Operation: Suspects Nabbed in UP and J&K
Given the gravity of the offense, a dedicated investigative team was formed under the leadership of Mandawar Police Station House Officer (SHO) Hariom Meena. Under the direct supervision of DSP Anoop Singh, the team analyzed the case from multiple angles, combining technical surveillance, mobile location tracking, and intelligence gathered from local informants. The relentless chase culminated in an inter-state operation: police detained Shersingh alias Sheru from Jammu & Kashmir and apprehended the second key suspect, Suresh alias Surra, from Uttar Pradesh.
Both accused were brought back to Rajasthan and produced before a local court, which remanded them to police custody. Officers are currently interrogating both suspects to recover physical evidence, reconstruct the complete sequence of events, and gather further corroborative details related to the crime.
Main Accused Sheru Identified as History-Sheeter
Police inquiries have revealed that the main accused, Shersingh alias Sheru, is a habitual offender with a significant criminal record. He is listed as a history-sheeter at the Khedli police station in Alwar district, with approximately 15 criminal cases registered against him across various police stations. His prior offences involve theft, robbery, and violent crimes.
Authorities are currently examining his past dossier to ascertain whether similar methods were employed in previous crimes. After a rigorous 15-day probe, police successfully exposed how the criminals attempted to outsmart law enforcement by moving the body three kilometers from the original crime scene.
