A woman was brutally murdered in the Seelampur area of North-East Delhi, and her husband has been missing ever since the incident. Delhi Police has formed several teams that are carrying out raids at multiple locations in search of him. According to police, information about the woman's murder was received on Thursday evening at around 7:32 pm from a house on Gali Number-9 in Gautampuri, under the jurisdiction of Seelampur police station. A police team rushed to the spot as soon as the information came in and began the necessary action.
Woman found drenched in blood on the third floor
When police reached the spot, they found a woman aged around 45 to 46 years lying on the floor of the third floor of the house in a critical condition, drenched in blood. Her body bore multiple marks of severe injuries, making it clear that she had been assaulted in an extremely violent manner. Without any delay, police rushed her to the nearby Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where doctors examined her and declared her dead. As soon as news of the incident spread, a forensic team and a crime team also reached the spot and began collecting evidence.
Case registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
Given the seriousness of the incident, police have registered a case of murder under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and have begun an investigation. The woman's body has been sent to the mortuary of GTB Hospital for a postmortem examination so that the exact cause of death and the nature of her injuries can be established.
Police suspect the missing husband, multiple teams searching for him
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the woman's husband has been missing from the house since the incident took place, and no trace of him has been found so far. Police suspect that he may be involved in the murder. To trace and arrest the accused husband, Delhi Police has formed several separate teams, which are continuously raiding his possible hideouts. As the investigation into the murder angle progresses, police are also questioning neighbours to find out what the relationship between the deceased woman and her missing husband was like, and who used to visit their home regularly. Besides this, CCTV footage from cameras in the surrounding area is being scanned to trace movements before and after the incident.
Panic grips the neighbourhood as crowd gathers
News of the woman's death triggered panic in the Seelampur area as soon as it spread. As the police team arrived at the spot, a large crowd gathered within moments. Police officials say the case is being investigated with complete seriousness and that every angle is being examined. Police have assured that whoever is found guilty in the investigation will be given the harshest possible punishment. In the past few days, a similar incident had also come to light from Delhi's Burari area, where the blood-soaked bodies of a young man and a young woman were found inside a room. Before his death, the young man had sent a message to his family members about taking a drastic step.
