The discovery sent immediate ripples of shock and panic throughout the entire neighbourhood. The deceased individual was identified as Sandeep. According to law enforcement officials, initial medical examinations indicate that the cause of death was an electric shock. Shedding light on the sequence of events, Shahdara Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajendra Prasad Meena stated that the authorities received information at approximately 7 am regarding a person lying unconscious near a pole. Upon reaching the location, the responding officers observed that Sandeep had one foot positioned in a pit while his hand and head were resting against the adjacent pole. He was rushed to a hospital immediately, where attending doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Following the post-mortem examination, which confirmed electrocution as the cause of death, a negligence case was filed at the Anand Vihar police station as legal proceedings continue.

The mother of the deceased, Kishan Pyari, tearfully recounted that Sandeep was running late from work, prompting her to call him, but he did not answer the phone before an unknown person eventually picked up, after which the phone was switched off. Meanwhile, the brother of the deceased, Manish, stated that injury marks are visible on the body, pointing directly toward murder. Manish alleged that Sandeep was not killed by a current but was instead assaulted and dumped at the location, noting the absence of standard electrocution burns and the presence of physical trauma.
