The monsoon is in full swing across the National Capital Region on August 6. Following overcast skies and scattered drizzling in the early hours, moderate rainfall is expected throughout the day. The wet spell, accompanied by cool breezes, is set to bring down temperatures and offer relief from recent humid conditions.
Thunderstorms and Rain Expected Throughout the Day
Rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is anticipated during the morning, afternoon, and evening hours on Thursday. Cloud cover had already gathered late last night, resulting in light drizzles across several localities. Periodic light to moderate showers may persist into the late evening and night, potentially impacting traffic and causing waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Active Monsoon Conditions to Persist Through Weekend
The rainy spell is not expected to subside immediately. Forecasts indicate that active monsoon conditions will prevail over the entire Delhi-NCR belt right through the upcoming weekend. Intermittent showers and continuous cloud cover will keep both maximum and minimum temperatures lower, promising a pleasant environment for weekend outdoor plans.
