A gruesome murder-suicide case has surfaced in the Kamalpur locality of Delhi's Burari area, where a young couple was found dead inside a rented house, their bodies soaked in blood. Police identified the two as Nikhil and Shubhangi. Initial findings suggest Nikhil first shot Shubhangi and then turned the gun on himself, ending his own life. It is suspected that the couple's family members alerted the police after the incident.
The Couple Had Been Renting The House For A Month
According to police, Nikhil and Shubhangi had been living together in the rented house in Kamalpur for close to a month. Shubhangi hailed from Uttar Pradesh, while Nikhil belonged to Haryana. Nikhil was unemployed at the time, and investigators are yet to establish exactly what drove him to carry out such a horrific act.
Sister's Return Home Uncovered The Tragedy
The bodies were discovered around 3 pm when Shubhangi's younger sister returned home from work. She was left in shock at the sight that greeted her, with both bodies lying on the floor and blood spattered all around the room. She immediately raised the alarm, following which police rushed to the spot.
CATS Ambulance And Crime Team Called In, No Suicide Note Found
Burari police station personnel, along with the CATS ambulance service and a crime team, reached the scene soon after being alerted. Investigators have been combing through the room in detail to piece together exactly what happened. So far, however, no suicide note has been recovered from the house, leaving a key part of the puzzle unresolved.
Nikhil Sent Messages To Family Before The Deaths
Investigators found that Nikhil had sent some messages to his family shortly before the deaths, and police are now examining these to better understand the sequence of events. Police are currently waiting for both families to arrive in Delhi so that further formalities can be completed. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and legal proceedings in the case have been initiated.
