The revelation of the leaked question paper triggered massive outrage across the state, ultimately forcing the Maharashtra government to cancel the entire recruitment exam. Taking swift legal action, the Mumbai Crime Branch has detained six individuals, including the candidate who allegedly used the leaked paper, her father who procured it, and a coaching institute teacher.
Leaked WhatsApp Chats Reveal 78 Solved Questions
The core evidence behind the paper leak scandal emerged from a series of incriminating WhatsApp conversations between the candidate and her boyfriend. According to the viral chat records, candidate Rituja Patil communicated with her boyfriend immediately after completing the exam to discuss her performance. She explicitly stated that the leak handlers had supplied her with 78 specific questions prior to the test, and she confirmed solving all 78 of those exact questions inside the examination hall.
Furthermore, the candidate disclosed in the messaging thread that she answered an additional 13 questions beyond the 78 provided by the leakers, bringing her total count to 91 solved questions. She specifically highlighted questions 77 and 78 as definitively solved and discussed how her scores would be computed after dividing by two. The chat log also detailed an interaction near the center gate with an individual named Dadu, where she mentioned submitting her mobile phone and instructing him to verify the question paper.
Scam Exposed After Relationship Breakup
The entire illegal operation was brought to light not by routine administrative audits, but through a romantic betrayal. Investigators found that Rituja Patil's father had purchased the stolen MPSC examination paper for his daughter. Confident in the arrangement, the candidate shared every detail of the transaction and the accuracy of the leaked questions with her boyfriend right after exiting the examination venue.
However, once she cleared the examination using the fraudulent advantage, her attitude shifted dramatically. Believing she had secured a prestigious government position as an officer, she ended her relationship with her boyfriend. Hurt by the sudden abandonment, the aggrieved boyfriend decided to expose the entire operation. He compiled the full WhatsApp conversation history and submitted it as evidence to the Mumbai Police, initiating the criminal inquiry.
