Infrastructure Upgrades at Jharsuguda Lead to Cancellation of Two Key Trains Running via Dhanbad

Extensive yard remodeling work at South Eastern Railway's Jharsuguda station has forced the cancellation of multiple trips for the Darbhanga-Charlapalli and Malda Town-Surat express trains.

Indian Railways has initiated vital infrastructure modernisation work involving yard remodelling at Jharsuguda under the South Eastern Railway jurisdiction. Due to these planned technical and development tasks, the operations of two prominent long-distance passenger services that pass through the Dhanbad route will remain suspended on selected dates across October, November, and December. The temporary cancellations are bound to affect travel plans for passengers headed toward southern and western regions of the country.

Eight Trips Suspended on the Darbhanga-Charlapalli Route

The bi-weekly service connecting Darbhanga and Charlapalli will see a significant interruption, with a total of eight trips called off in both directions combined. This disruption will create substantial challenges for long-distance commuters travelling between Jharkhand, Bihar, and southern Indian destinations during the late autumn and early winter period.

Cancellations during the festive and winter season are going to cause huge trouble for passengers.

Ravikash, your point is fair, but development work is necessary too. Will everything really halt just because of these cancellations?

Cancellations due to yard work always make long-distance travel a big headache. Better check the updated schedule before heading to the station to avoid getting stranded.

Spot on, Karan! Getting stranded at the station with family last year when my train was suddenly cancelled was a nightmare.
