India has once again confronted Pakistan on the global stage regarding cross-border terrorism during proceedings at the United Nations. Countering Islamabad's attempts to portray itself as a champion of peace, the Indian delegation dismantled its narrative by pointing directly to its track record of sheltering globally designated terrorists.
Indian Diplomat Raghu Puri Challenges Pakistan
Exercising India's position, First Secretary Raghu Puri strongly criticised Pakistan for attempting to lecture the international community while operating state-sponsored terror networks. Puri emphasised that a nation functioning as a sanctuary for terror figures has no moral ground to preach on global platforms, stressing that the world sees through such posturing.
Citing Osama Bin Laden and Dawood Ibrahim
Drawing on documented historical facts, Puri brought up the elimination of Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden. He noted that bin Laden was discovered hiding and subsequently neutralised within Pakistani territory. He also pointed directly to underworld figure and terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, whose safe havens are well-documented to be located within Pakistan. Puri underscored the contradiction between harboring such fugitives and professing a commitment to international security.
India Demands Concrete Action Against Terror Networks
India made it clear that meaningful dialogue and regional peace cannot coexist with state-supported terrorism. The Indian representative urged the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for the safe houses and financial networks extended to terror syndicates, reiterating India's zero-tolerance policy towards cross-border violence.
