Daily commuters traveling across the rail corridor between Deoghar and Giridih in Jharkhand will face scheduled interruptions during the coming weeks. Railway authorities have decided to temporarily suspend two local passenger train services on select days in November 2026. Passengers mapping out journeys along this specific branch line are urged to verify current schedules prior to departing for stations.
Infrastructure upgrade prompts power and traffic shutdown
The temporary disruption stems directly from vital structural engineering work underway on the Madhupur bypass corridor, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Asansol division within Eastern Railway. Engineering teams must execute box pushing operations for bridge number 6A located along this stretch. To facilitate this complex civil work safely, authorities have mandated a coordinated traffic and power block between Madhupur and Jagdishpur stations, requiring overhead traction and track sections to be isolated.
Specific November dates when train movements remain cancelled
According to administrative notifications issued by railway managers, engineering blocks have been scheduled across four distinct dates: 05 November 2026, 08 November 2026, 23 November 2026, and 26 November 2026. However, full suspension of passenger movement is restricted strictly to two specific dates within this roster: 8 November and 23 November.
The impacted passenger pairs comprise
- Train 53515: The Madhupur to Giridih passenger service will remain entirely cancelled on 8 November and 23 November.
- Train 53516: The return service operating from Giridih to Madhupur will likewise stay completely suspended on both 8 November and 23 November.
Unrestricted passenger travel scheduled on alternate block days
In a reassuring development for local office-goers, students, and daily market travelers, the remaining two maintenance dates will not experience cancellations. On both 5 November and 26 November 2026, these two passenger trains are scheduled to operate per their usual timetable, subject to operational conditions remaining stable. Eastern Railway expressed regret over the unavoidable inconvenience caused by the track overhaul and advised travelers to review real-time train status via official railway inquiry tools before beginning their commute.
