The accused behind this heinous crime is a 70-year-old elderly man. According to the police, the unfortunate incident took place on September 24. Family members informed law enforcement that the young victim was walking back home from her anganwadi. Along the way, the accused lured her by offering candy and called her near him. The complaint alleges that the accused then took the child away and committed the assault. Upon reaching home, the traumatized child narrated the entire ordeal to her relatives. Shocked by the disclosure, the family rushed straight to the police station to lodge an official complaint, prompting authorities to launch an investigation with utmost seriousness.
Police swiftly arrest the accused
Superintendent of Police Rajat Saklecha stated that upon receiving the complaint, the police acted without any delay and arrested the accused, identified as Hari Raikwar. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the stringent POCSO Act. After completing initial legal procedures, the accused was produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
