A district and sessions court in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, delivered a significant verdict on Wednesday in the murder case of fruit trader Aamin Khan. The court sentenced Aamin Khan's wife, Shahnaz Bi, and her lover, Akhtar Sayyed, to life imprisonment after finding them guilty of conspiring to kill him and carrying out the murder. The verdict, delivered by ADJ Anil Chaudhary's court, brings legal closure to a case that had remained in the headlines for a long time.
How the Case Unfolded
The case dates back to 23 May 2025, when fruit trader Aamin Khan was shot in the temple while asleep at his home. The killing sent shockwaves through the area. Initially, it appeared to be a straightforward murder, but the circumstances at the crime scene gave police several important leads. Aamin Khan's wife, Shahnaz Bi, was present in the same room where he was killed, but the account she gave of the incident raised suspicion among investigators.
The Investigation That Changed Everything
Police then launched a detailed investigation into the case. Evidence collected from the crime scene, technical analysis, mobile call records, interrogation and other proof completely changed the direction of the probe. The investigation revealed that Shahnaz Bi had conspired with her lover, Akhtar Sayyed, to murder her husband. After gathering sufficient evidence, police arrested both accused and filed a chargesheet in court.
What Happened in Court
During the trial, the prosecution presented witness statements, scientific evidence and other documentary proof before the court. After hearing arguments from both sides and examining all the available evidence, the court held Shahnaz Bi and Akhtar Sayyed guilty of murder and criminal conspiracy.
