In a major crackdown against food adulteration, the police and the food department have busted an illegal factory manufacturing spurious milk and ghee in the Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh. The illicit operation was uncovered on Sunday afternoon inside a residential enclosure located in Khejadiya Boop village under the Suwasra police station jurisdiction in Mandsaur. Acting on a specific tip-off, law enforcement agencies mobilized a joint raid involving food safety officials, catching the operators off guard and uncovering a massive illegal production setup that left authorities astonished by the scale of the adulteration.
Over Six Hours of Operations and Massive Seizures
The raid continued for over six hours with more than a dozen police personnel deployed at the site to maintain order and execute the search. During the extensive operation, authorities discovered that large quantities of artificial milk and spurious desi ghee were being produced using hazardous mixtures of palm oil and milk powder. The department prepared formal panchnama documents on the spot and arranged for transport vehicles to carry away the seized equipment and materials. To haul the confiscated goods back, police dispatched a tractor-trolley and a pickup truck from Suwasra to the village, successfully transferring all the confiscated items to the police station by evening.
Main Accused Flees from the Scene
As soon as the police force arrived at the location, the individual operating the illegal manufacturing unit managed to escape before officers could apprehend him. The fugitive has been identified as Peeru Singh, son of Ram Singh, who is a resident of the same village where the factory was operating. Police have registered a formal case against Peeru Singh and launched a concerted manhunt to track him down. The clandestine unit was situated in Khejadiya Boop village, roughly 15 kilometers away from the Suwasra police station.
Factory Sealed and Samples Sent for Testing
During the operation, food safety inspectors collected official samples of the substances found on the premises for laboratory testing and sealed the entire facility. The authorities seized 85 containers of milk, 10 tins of palm oil, and 112 empty containers from the site. Following this major raid, inspection drives were conducted across various locations in the district, where local dairies and shops were checked, and strict guidelines regarding cleanliness and hygiene were issued to vendors.
