During a high-profile protest in Kochi, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke launched a scathing attack on the central government over the special intensive revision (SIR) of voter lists. Speaking at the Jantar Mantar protest, Dipke stated that the administration's handling of the agitation reflects the cowardice of the central leadership. He made it clear that the battle against the voter list revision will continue unabated until their demands are met.
Allegations Against the Chief Election Commissioner
Interacting with reporters at the Kochi airport earlier, Dipke announced that the campaign against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will persist until a completely independent and fair electoral system is established in the nation. He alleged that elections conducted under the current CEC cannot be trusted and that processes are being manipulated to benefit a specific political party. He emphasized that vigilance is necessary to safeguard democratic integrity.
Concerns Over Bureaucratic Appointments
Dipke pointed out that voters' names are being systematically deleted from rolls across the entire country, noting that no state remains unaffected by the SIR procedure. He also questioned the appointment of Kerala's former chief electoral officer as the chief minister's secretary, arguing that such administrative decisions undermine the perceived fairness and neutrality of the election machinery.
Actor Prakash Raj Joins the Demonstration
Prominent actor Prakash Raj participated in the demonstration alongside hundreds of party workers, civil rights advocates, and ordinary citizens. Addressing the gathering, Dipke responded to allegations that the CJP accepts foreign funding, dismissing them outright. Highlighting his commitment to the nation, he shared that he had previously been jailed for hoisting the national flag and vowed to carry the tricolor wherever he travels across the country.
Ideology and the 2029 Political Prediction
Rejecting labels that CJP workers are anarchists, Dipke insisted that they are true followers of Ambedkar's ideology. He contrasted his accessibility with that of the top leadership, noting that he has held over 50 press conferences in the last three months while the prime minister has avoided facing the media directly even once. Concluding his speech with a bold political prediction, Dipke forecasted that the NDA will be voted out of power in 2029 through democratic means.
