On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Sonia Jind, chairperson of the newly formed Sultana municipality in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, set a remarkable example of social harmony and unity. Belonging to the Muslim community, Jind chose to celebrate the major Hindu festival alongside the town's sanitation workers. This unique gesture aimed to spread a strong message of brotherhood, equality, and communal amity. During the event, she honoured the workers who maintain the town's cleanliness by presenting them with sweets and gifts.
Acknowledging the Dedication of Workers
While honoring the sanitation staff, Jind highlighted the vital importance of their contribution to the community. She noted that these workers form the strongest backbone of the municipal sanitation system. When the entire town and country are immersed in festive celebrations, these workers often spend time away from their own families to keep the streets and main roads clean. Sharing Diwali joy with such dedicated personnel and recognizing their relentless hard work is a moral duty for everyone.
Pledge for a Cleaner and Better Sultana
Jind reiterated her firm resolve to develop Sultana into a clean, beautiful, and well-managed municipality. She emphasized that the role of sanitation workers is paramount in keeping the area clean and pleasant. It is through their round-the-clock labor and dedication that proper sanitation is maintained across the municipal limits. On this occasion, she extended warm Diwali greetings to all sanitation workers and local residents while vowing to make Sultana an exemplary town.
Joy and Gratitude Among Staff
The sanitation workers were visibly delighted and overwhelmed upon receiving unexpected warmth, respect, and gifts from the chairperson on the festival. They expressed that having their daily efforts recognized and being invited by the municipal head to celebrate together significantly boosts their morale. The gathering concluded with attendees exchanging festive greetings and sharing sweets to celebrate the occasion.
