A sharp confrontation has erupted between the local police administration and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers in the Dudu area of Jaipur Rural district in Rajasthan. Tensions escalated rapidly following allegations that on-duty personnel at the Naraina police station subjected an RSS Sambhar district pracharak to abusive treatment and unlawfully held him inside the station. In response to the episode, dozens of organization members, local officials, and area residents gathered inside the premises of the police station, raising slogans against police conduct and launching an indefinite sit-in protest.
Confrontation During Night Patrol
The dispute stems from an encounter that unfolded late the previous night. The district pracharak from Sambhar had arrived in the Naraina area to attend to some work. While he was travelling through the locality late at night, patrolling police personnel intercepted him on the road. RSS representatives alleged that the interrogating officers behaved with unwarranted hostility right from the beginning. According to the allegations, the personnel engaged in verbal abuse and used foul language against the functionary without any justified cause or legal rationale.
Custody Under Disputed Allegations
The situation escalated beyond verbal arguments when the patrolling officers allegedly forced the district pracharak into custody, displaying high-handedness. He was subsequently brought to the Naraina police station and made to sit inside on grounds of disturbing the peace, an accusation that organization members firmly reject as completely fabricated. As information regarding the overnight detention reached local RSS circles during the early hours, resentment began mounting swiftly across the region.
Crowd Gathers at Station as Protest Commences
By the following morning, news of the incident had spread across Naraina and neighboring rural areas. Mobilizing in large numbers, organization workers, senior representatives, and local villagers marched directly to the Naraina police station. The agitated crowd staged a vocal demonstration, raising slogans against police excess and demanding immediate accountability. Demonstrators occupied the station grounds and established an open-ended sit-in, asserting that they would refuse to vacate the premises until punitive measures were initiated against the personnel involved.
Demands for Immediate Suspension of Personnel
The primary demand of the protesting workers is the immediate suspension of all police personnel who took part in the mistreatment, verbal abuse, and detention of the functionary. Demonstrators asserted that subjecting a reputable organizational representative to such treatment without any wrongdoing highlights administrative overreach and misconduct. They cautioned local authorities that failure to take prompt disciplinary action would result in a broader and more intensive agitation, for which the police administration would bear full responsibility.
