The NDPS court in Hanumangarh has delivered a significant verdict, sentencing poppy smuggler Vedprakash to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of 2 lakh 5 thousand rupees on the convict. The case dates back to 2019, when the Town police conducted a raid and recovered 4 quintals and 40 kilograms of poppy husk, a revolver, and 22 cartridges from the accused. Special Public Prosecutor Surendra Sharma represented the state in this case.
Rajasthan Staff Selection Board Exam Results
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has approved the final results for the Class IV recruitment, which are expected to be released shortly. The results for approximately 48,000 candidates will be announced in the coming days. However, as per court instructions, the results of 5,750 candidates have been withheld for the time being. RSSB Chairman Major General Alok Raj shared this information and indicated that the remaining results would be issued soon.
Municipal Engineer Caught Taking Bribe in Jaipur
In a major operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan trapped Junior Engineer (JEN) Sanjay Bairwa of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation Civil Line Zone while he was accepting a bribe of 80,000 rupees. The accused had demanded the bribe for de-sealing a property. According to the ACB, the accused had already accepted 20,000 rupees during the verification phase. On Monday, as he accepted the remaining 80,000 rupees, the ACB team apprehended him. The operation was led by ASP Prashant Koushik under the supervision of DIG Dr. Rameswar Singh, following specific directives from DG Govind Gupta and ADG Smita Srivastava. This raid has caused a stir within the municipal corporation, and further investigations are currently underway.
Police Crackdowns in Chittorgarh
The Gangrar police in Chittorgarh district have successfully solved a theft case at an Anganwadi center, leading to the arrest of three individuals. The theft occurred five days ago at Anganwadi center number-05, prompting an immediate police investigation. Using technical evidence and informant tips, the police tracked down and detained the accused. Meanwhile, the Bhadsoda police in the same district uncovered illegal cannabis cultivation in Chakuda village. Acting on intelligence, the police raided the field and seized 91 kilograms and 800 grams of cannabis. The entire area has been secured as evidence, and an investigation is ongoing to identify the network behind this illegal farming.
Infrastructure Issues in Schools
Although schools in Karauli reopened after summer vacations, dozens of the 737 schools approved for repairs under disaster management last year remain in a dilapidated state. Budgetary allocations of 2 lakh rupees per school were sanctioned, but work has yet to be completed. The Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Karauli is in such poor condition that parts of it must be closed during rain, and due to space constraints, three classes are being conducted in a single room.
Tragic Incidents in Alwar and Dausa
A tragic incident occurred in the Paparda police station area of Dausa, where 16-year-old Amit, alias Tillu, died by suicide at his home in Parsya Dhani, Singhpuria village. Deadly Collision in Bikaner
A horrific road accident occurred late at night in the Jamsar police station area of Bikaner. Two trucks collided head-on on the national highway, and one of the vehicles immediately caught fire. The fire spread so rapidly that the driver could not escape the cabin and was burned alive. Two other individuals were also seriously injured in the crash. The Jamsar Station House Officer Ravi Kumar Meena arrived at the scene with his team and the rescue crew from the toll plaza. After a difficult operation, they extinguished the fire and cleared the traffic with the help of a crane. The body of the deceased driver has been placed in the mortuary at PBM Hospital, and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
