A major development has emerged from the Tonk district of Rajasthan, where two young men have been taken into custody over suspected involvement in terror activities. This confidential operation was carried out following specific inputs provided by the Jaipur ATS and state intelligence, with local Kotwali police station personnel and a heavy police deployment present on the ground. Security agencies strongly suspect that the detained individuals may have operational links with the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, creating widespread tension and anxiety across the entire district following the raid.
How the Operation Unfolded and Led to Two Arrests
According to available details, the joint team of the ATS and state intelligence initially detained a 20-year-old youth named Basit. Based on the intensive interrogation of Basit and the crucial leads extracted during the questioning, the ATS launched a sudden raid near a car market located in the Dhannatalai area under the Tonk Kotwali police station limits. During this second sweep, another suspect named Burhan was also taken into custody. A heavy police force was stationed throughout the operation to prevent any untoward incidents or law and order disruptions in the neighborhood.
Search Operation Yields Bank Passbooks and Scooter Parts
Following the detentions, the Kotwali police and investigative agencies conducted an exhaustive search operation at Basit's residence. Family members claimed that during the search, the police confiscated several items from the house, including ATM cards, bank passbooks, and various parts belonging to an electric scooter. Basit's father, Hafiz, stated that he runs an eatery in the Dhannatalai locality and that his son Basit works alongside him. Expressing complete ignorance regarding the allegations, Hafiz maintained that his family has no connection to such activities and will fully cooperate with the ongoing police investigation.
Intensive Interrogation Underway at an Undisclosed Location
At present, both suspected individuals are being interrogated by the ATS and intelligence agencies at an undisclosed and secure location. Due to strict security protocols and the ongoing nature of the probe, local police and administrative officials have refrained from issuing any official statements on the matter. Investigators are thoroughly examining the financial transactions and digital footprints of the suspects to uncover their exact role within any broader terror network. Authorities indicate that significant revelations are expected once the comprehensive questioning concludes.
