A tragic road accident took place near Daulatpur village in the Deedwana sub-division of Nagaur district, where a truck loaded with tomatoes suddenly lost control and overturned on the highway. The mishap resulted in the instantaneous death of two individuals who were trapped underneath the heavy vehicle, creating an atmosphere of panic and chaos at the site. The scattering of cargo across the tarmac also disrupted local traffic for a brief duration. Upon receiving information, local law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene and cleared the wreckage with the help of a crane to restore normal movement.
According to details shared by authorities, the vehicle was transporting tomatoes from Nashik in Maharashtra toward Amritsar in Punjab. A total of three people, including the driver, were reportedly inside the cabin. As the vehicle approached the vicinity of Daulatpur, the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle ahead, during which the truck suddenly lost its balance and began to tip over. Seeing the vehicle losing control, two occupants panicked and tried to jump out, but they failed to secure themselves and ended up trapped beneath the tumbling truck.
The impact was severe enough to scatter the tomatoes across a wide stretch of the road, affecting passing traffic and causing a temporary roadblock. Following the alert, the local police station team arrived promptly, deployed a crane to remove the mangled vehicle from the roadway, and cleared the passage. The bodies of the two deceased victims were subsequently retrieved from under the wreckage and shifted to the mortuary of Government Bangur District Hospital.
Authorities stated that efforts are underway to establish the identities of the deceased and trace their families. Meanwhile, the third occupant miraculously escaped unhurt, though he remains in a state of severe shock following the traumatic incident. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the entire episode and executing necessary legal procedures to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
