The historic Dwarkadhish Temple in Mathura transforms into a vibrant center of devotion and spirituality during the sacred month of Sawan. Upholding the unique traditions of the Pushtimarg sect, the child manifestation of Lord Krishna is placed on beautifully decorated swings each day of the season.
Special Sawan Celebrations
Throughout the month, various special rituals involving swings and festive weather themes are organized within the temple grounds. According to Rakesh Tiwari Advocate, the legal and media in-charge of the temple, all these sacred events are planned under the divine guidance of Goswami Shri Shri 108 Dr. Vageesh Kumar Ji Maharaj, the third pontiff and Kankroli Naresh. The celebrations are successfully executed under his supervision along with Yuvraj Vedant Kumar Ji Maharaj and Siddhant Kumar Ji Maharaj.
The Green Velvet Swing Darshan
Carrying forward this rich tradition, on Sawan Shukla Shashthi, Lord Dwarkadhish was seated on a magnificent swing made of green velvet. These special morning darshan timings were kept from 5:10 AM to 5:40 AM. Devotees travelled from all corners of the country to witness the spectacle, filling the temple courtyard with chants and devotional cheers.
A Confluence of Faith and Tradition
The temple undergoes elaborate decorations throughout Sawan to offer pilgrims a divine and surreal experience. Followers visit with deep-seated prayers, believing firmly that Lord Dwarkadhish fulfills the heartfelt wishes of every devotee who steps inside the shrine during this auspicious period.
