Vodafone Idea (Vi) has rolled out a fresh offer to woo its postpaid subscribers, bundling three months of free Spotify Premium with select postpaid plans. The move is aimed at giving customers a stronger entertainment package while also sharpening the company's competition with other telecom operators such as Airtel.
Which plans come with the free subscription
Among Vi's individual postpaid plans, the ₹451, ₹551, ₹751 and ₹1,201 plans come bundled with three months of free Spotify Premium. The offer also extends to the company's family postpaid plans, including the ₹701, ₹751, ₹871, ₹1,201, ₹1,301, ₹1,401, ₹1,526 and ₹1,601 plans. In other words, both single users and families opting for a shared plan can claim the benefit.
Who is eligible, and the fine print
The offer is open to both new and existing Vi postpaid customers, so anyone signing up now as well as current subscribers can claim it. There is one condition though: the free subscription is available only to those who have never previously used or paid for Spotify Premium. Anyone who has already been a paying Spotify Premium subscriber will not qualify for this free offer.
How to activate it, and what happens after the trial
To claim the benefit, users need to open the Vi App and claim Spotify Premium from there. Once the three month free trial ends, users who want to keep Spotify Premium can do so through Vi's Add to Bill facility. Under this, the ₹139 monthly Spotify Premium charge gets added directly to the postpaid bill, so there is no need to pay separately elsewhere.
What Spotify Premium offers
With Spotify Premium, users get to listen to music without advertisements. The subscription also brings offline downloads, better audio quality, and the ability to play any song of their choice on demand. On top of that, subscribers get AI based playlists that suggest songs based on their listening preferences.
The offer ties into Vi's 5G push
Vi has been steadily expanding its 5G network across the country, and an offer like free Spotify Premium could help the company pull in new postpaid customers. For existing Vi postpaid users who have never used Spotify Premium before, this offer could turn out to be a genuinely useful deal.
