The Kaachhbali Gram Panchayat and the Forest Department have jointly decided to crack down on anything that threatens the natural beauty and ecology of this valley, backing the move with strict rules and a hefty fine.
What's now completely off-limits inside the forest
Under the new order, carrying or consuming any kind of intoxicants, liquor, or meat inside the Goram Ghat forest area, along with creating a ruckus or hooliganism, has been declared entirely illegal. Any tourist caught flouting these rules will have to pay a steep fine of ₹5,100. It doesn't stop at the fine either, strict legal action awaits violators, meaning things could escalate all the way to jail time in serious cases.
