A high-level administrative meeting took place on Tuesday within the Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The primary agenda focused on finalizing the recruitment process for the temple's inaugural Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to streamline complex governance and daily management. Key representatives of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and local administration evaluated the search panel's findings, setting the stage for an official naming announcement.
Search Committee Submits Shortlisted Candidates
To identify suitable candidates for the unprecedented post, a specialized three-member search panel had been previously constituted. The panel comprised retired Lieutenant General Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi, former scientist Suresh Haware, and former Justice Pramod Kohli. Following detailed evaluations, the panel shortlisted three individuals and formally handed over its report on Tuesday.
The submission meeting was attended by Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, Acting General Secretary Krishna Mohan, Ayodhya District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi, and Nirmohi Akhara Mahant Dinendra Das. The recommendations will now be reviewed at the full board meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust scheduled for Wednesday.
Trust Decision and Governance Outlook
Addressing the timeline of the appointment, Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj noted that the selection report will be scrutinized during Wednesday's trust assembly. He stated, "The report will be discussed in the trust meeting on Wednesday. I hope an announcement will be made, but the final decision rests with the trust."
The appointment of a designated CEO is expected to optimize visitor management, security, infrastructure maintenance, and financial record-keeping across the expansive shrine infrastructure.
Filling Key Vacancies in the Temple Trust
Beyond the executive appointment, the trust is also preparing to address three vacant positions on its board. These slots became open following the resignations of former General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Dr. Anil Mishra amidst a donation theft controversy, alongside the recent passing of Raja Bimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra. Replacements for all three seats are anticipated to be confirmed during Wednesday's deliberations.
Secretary Appointment and Prospective Inductions
Reports indicate that the selection for the secretary position within the trust is largely finalized. Jagdish Afle is expected to take charge as the new secretary, with an official clearance planned for Wednesday.
Furthermore, litterateur Yatindra Mishra, son of the late Raja Bimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, is being considered for trustee inclusion. International General Secretary of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Bajrang Lal Bagra and VHP Central Advisory Committee member Dinesh Ji are also shortlisted as probable inductees into the trust body, rounding out the administrative overhaul.
