In a disturbing incident from Fatehpur district in Uttar Pradesh, a 21-year-old madrasa cleric has been arrested after being caught by local residents while allegedly trying to kidnap a 14-year-old student whom he had been sexually exploiting for over a year. The accused, identified as Abdul Samad, was apprehended by the victim's family and villagers late at night in the Lalauli police station area. Following his capture, he was turned over to the police, who subsequently placed him under arrest and remanded him to judicial custody.
Exploitation and Deception Over Twelve Months
According to the details of the case, Abdul Samad, a resident of Banthal Shahpur village under Jahanganj in Farrukhabad district, had arrived at the Jama Masjid madrasa in the Lalauli region roughly 2 years ago to impart religious instruction to young students. Over time, he allegedly brainwashed the 14-year-old victim, establishing close ties with her under the pretext of promising marriage. The victim's family alleged that Samad repeatedly sexually assaulted the minor inside the madrasa premises over the past 1 year, specifically choosing times after other students had been dismissed from their classes for the day.
Late-Night Escape Thwarted by Relatives
The situation escalated when Samad summoned the minor girl late at night and attempted to flee with her to Farrukhabad after reiterating his promise of marriage. When the victim's family members noticed her sudden absence from home late at night, they launched an immediate search across the locality. During their search, they spotted the cleric attempting to escape the village alongside the minor girl. Hearing the family's cries for help, nearby villagers gathered quickly, surrounded the route, and captured the cleric. The crowd then escorted both individuals directly to the local Lalauli police station.
Legal Proceedings and Police Intervention
During initial questioning at the police station, the minor girl recounted the sequence of events to the authorities, detailing how the cleric had repeatedly violated her at the madrasa under the guise of marriage. Lalauli Station House Officer PK Rao confirmed that the police acted swiftly on the victim's account, officially arresting Abdul Samad and remanding him to jail. The police administration dispatched the victim to the district hospital for a formal medical examination and initiated the process of recording her official legal statement, assuring that further stringent legal actions are being pursued.
