A brutal altercation over unpaid wages in Sisaiya village, located under the Barkhera police station jurisdiction in Pilibhit district, Uttar Pradesh, has resulted in the tragic death of a local resident named Sanjay. The incident unfolded on Saturday evening when a minor disagreement concerning daily wage payments quickly escalated into a fatal assault, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Initial Confrontation and Seizure of Motorcycle
The sequence of events began on Saturday evening as Sanjay was traveling towards a nearby market on his motorcycle. Along the way, a local resident named Veerpal intercepted him, triggering an argument over financial dues related to wage labor. According to allegations, the verbal exchange rapidly deteriorated, leading Veerpal to hurl abuses, physically assault Sanjay, and forcibly confiscate his motorcycle. Seeking to retrieve his vehicle, Sanjay later returned to Veerpal's residence accompanied by female members of his family.
Brutal Assault Inside the Accused's Residence
Upon reaching the premises to reclaim the motorcycle, the confrontation turned violent. It is alleged that Veerpal, joined by his family members, dragged Sanjay inside the house and launched a savage attack using sticks and heavy wooden batons. When the women accompanying him attempted to intervene and protect him, they too were targeted and manhandled by the aggressors. Hearing the commotion and desperate cries for help, neighbors rushed to the scene and managed to pull Sanjay out from the attackers' house.
Deteriorating Health and Death En Route to Hospital
After being rescued, Sanjay returned home and rested for a brief period, but his condition deteriorated sharply around 11 PM that night. Panicked family members rushed him toward a medical facility to secure urgent treatment, but he succumbed to his severe injuries on the way. Doctors at the hospital officially pronounced him dead upon arrival, plunging his relatives into deep grief. Manju Devi, the sister of the deceased, recounted how the wage dispute spiraled out of control and cost her brother his life.
Police Action and Detention of Suspects
Local authorities responded swiftly upon receiving word of the incident, with Barkhera police reaching the hospital to gather preliminary details. Bisalpur Circle Officer Rahul Pandey stated that law enforcement received information regarding the hospital death of a Sisaiya village resident and immediately initiated inquiries. Police confirmed that both individuals worked as daily wage laborers and had engaged in a dispute earlier in the evening before the fatal escalation at the accused's home. Authorities have successfully detained three individuals in connection with the crime and are conducting intense questioning, while the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
