In a significant move aimed at restructuring the administration, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a mass transfer of 182 PCS officers. This widespread reshuffle has resulted in the replacement of SDMs across several districts, with officials being assigned new responsibilities to ensure the smooth functioning of district-level governance.
Key Assignments and Realignments
The transfer list outlines numerous changes across key administrative roles in the state. Surbhi Sharma has been shifted from Kanpur Dehat to become the new SDM of Baghpat. Pushpendra Patel was moved from Ghazipur to Ambedkar Nagar, while Shubham Yadav was transferred from Unnao to Bulandshahr. Similarly, Pratibha Mishra has moved from Varanasi to Kanpur Dehat, and Gopal Sharma has been appointed as the new SDM of Bareilly, moving from Mainpuri. Mithlesh Kumar Tiwari, who was serving in Raebareli, is the new SDM for Mainpuri.
Other notable changes include Lavleet Kaur, who has been moved from Hathras to serve as OSD at the Greater Noida Authority. Veer Singh (2020 batch), previously serving as Assistant Municipal Commissioner in Aligarh, has been appointed as the SDM of Raebareli. Additionally, Pushparnath Chaudhary has moved from Amroha to Unnao, Avdhesh Kumar Nigam from Deoria to Firozabad, while both Deepika Mehra and Sachin Rajput were transferred from Mathura and Agra, respectively, to Shamli. Further reassignments include Ram Janam Yadav moving from Bareilly to Hardoi, Devendra Pratap Singh from UPEIDA to Jhansi, Pragya Pandey from Unnao to Barabanki, Ajendra Singh from Kaushambi to Unnao, and Narendra Kumar Gangwar from Azamgarh to Agra.
Continuing Administrative Reorganization
The state government frequently conducts these administrative transfers to maintain operational efficiency across departments. This follows a similar large-scale effort on June 23 of last year, when 127 PCS officers were transferred in a single exercise.
Transfer of 20 IAS Officers
Prior to this, late on Thursday evening, the Yogi government transferred 20 IAS officers, including those at the Secretary and Special Secretary levels. In this list, Sudha Verma was moved from Secretary of the Revenue Department to Labor Commissioner (UP). Neha Sharma has been appointed as the Director General of Medical Education, and Arun Kumar has taken on the role of Mission Director for the State Rural Livelihood Mission. Deepa Ranjan has been named Special Secretary for the Culture Department, and Sandeep Bhagia has been appointed Managing Director of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam. Additionally, Alok Kumar has been posted as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Ballia, and Sanjay Kumar Singh has been made the CDO of Etawah. These postings, along with others receiving additional charges, form part of a broader effort to strengthen the state's administrative setup.
