Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) have been enforced across Gautam Buddha Nagar to maintain law and order. The restrictions remain effective from October 10 through October 20. Under this directive, public gatherings of five or more individuals without prior administrative approval, processions, inflammatory speeches, and the dissemination of misleading information have been strictly prohibited throughout the district.
Upcoming Festivals, Examinations, and Planned Demonstrations
The formal order, issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Archana Singh, highlights multiple events occurring during this ten-day span. The Navratri festival commences on October 11, followed by Mahanavami and Dussehra celebrations on October 19 and 20. Alongside these religious festivities, several examinations are scheduled across various centres in the district. Furthermore, multiple farmer bodies, political outfits, and community groups have been staging demonstrations over diverse demands. Authorities noted that preventive measures were necessary as the possibility of anti-social elements disrupting public order and peace cannot be ruled out.
These administrative measures come against the backdrop of a major protest call in neighbouring Delhi by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The group is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations regarding the electoral process. Various youth and farmer organizations across Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country have also been urged to participate in the protest.
Heightened Border Surveillance and Security Deployment
In response to the potential influx of demonstrators, security checks have been substantially intensified across Gautam Buddha Nagar. Border points connecting Noida with Delhi have been placed under strict surveillance, with additional personnel from the police force and the Border Security Force (BSF) stationed to monitor traffic and maintain tranquility.
