All four deceased individuals were residents of Kushawali village. News of the fatal incident reached their native village shortly afterward, plunging their families and neighborhood into deep mourning.

Nearby residents and commuters quickly gathered at the crash site upon hearing the collision to assist the victims. They alerted law enforcement authorities while pulling out the injured passengers from the wreckage. I often travel along this very route in Meerut. Seeing devotees returning with the sacred flame on trolleys early in the morning is such a common sight, it breaks my heart thinking of what those families are going through.
