Greater Noida is geared up to host the grand commercial showcase of Uttar Pradesh as the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS 2026) commences at the India Expo Centre and Mart. Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah alongside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the five-day exposition on Friday. Running from September 25 to September 29, the flagship trade gathering serves as an expansive platform to connect regional manufacturers, exporters, village craftsmen, and established industrial players with nationwide and global buyers.
Projected Footfall and Exhibition Scale
The scale of the current edition reflects significant expansion across logistics and industrial sectors. Official estimates project the participation of more than 2,400 exhibitors spread across diverse exhibition halls. Over the course of five days, the venue expects to receive upwards of 1.5 lakh B2B commercial buyers and trade visitors, in addition to over 4.5 lakh general visitors. To drive export ties and foreign capital inflow, organizers anticipate more than 550 overseas commercial delegates representing 85 countries.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Cabinet Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Bhupendra Chaudhary described the MSME sector as the fundamental economic spine of Uttar Pradesh. Highlighting the presence of more than 96 lakh MSME units across the state, he emphasized the administration's resolve to foster a progressive ecosystem enabling homegrown enterprises to innovate, expand operational footprints, and contend effectively in competitive international markets. The trade show is tailored to deliver expanded market access, commercial partnerships, outside investment, and broad employment generation.
Global Partnerships and International Buyer Linkages
International collaboration forms a central pillar of UPITS 2026, featuring six dedicated partner nations: Austria, Japan, Russia, Singapore, Belarus, and Vietnam. Strategic engagements with these partner countries aim to open new procurement corridors, advance joint ventures, encourage direct investment, and accelerate technology transfers across high-tech domains. The platform structurally integrates foreign procurement delegations, domestic enterprise buyers, and retail consumers into a shared networking venue.
International commercial interest has escalated significantly leading up to the inauguration, with formal registrations already confirmed from foreign buyers spanning 72 nations. Facilitated by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) through its hosted buyer program, key importers, procurement executives, retail chain owners, distributors, sourcing consultants, and trade bodies have been mobilized. Specialized B2B matchmaking lounges, corporate networking sessions, and focused enterprise roundtables have been arranged to facilitate immediate commercial dialogue between participants.
Broad Industrial Spectrum and Government Policies
The exhibition space spans a wide cross-section of the state's agriculture, heavy manufacturing, consumer commodities, and services sectors. Prominently featured industries include defence, aerospace, automobiles, electric vehicles and auto components, consumer electronics, e-commerce, information technology, and smart city infrastructure. Traditional crafts and agricultural sectors will be represented through textiles, handlooms, handicrafts, food processing, dairy, livestock, horticulture, fisheries, and FMCG.
Further domains include health and wellness, AYUSH, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, civil infrastructure, real estate, engineering, leather goods, renewable energy, mining, power generation, warehousing, logistics, sports goods, toys, retail, financial services, printing, packaging, skill development, education, sanitation, and wastewater management. In parallel, various state departments will showcase operational policies on cluster modernization, MSME credit, export incentives, digital operations, textile manufacturing, and urban-rural job creation initiatives.
Cultural Legacy, Gastronomy, and Knowledge Exchange
Alongside commercial contracts, UPITS 2026 will celebrate the regional heritage of Uttar Pradesh. Expanding on the acclaimed 'One District, One Product' (ODOP) initiative, this edition introduces 'One District, One Cuisine' (ODOC) to spotlight traditional culinary practices, distinct flavours, and indigenous culinary traditions from every corner of the state.
The five-day agenda integrates business negotiations with interactive cultural presentations, live artistic performances, laser shows, fashion runway showcases, and industry honours. Specialized technical seminars will bring together domain experts to deliberate on artificial intelligence adoption, electronics hardware fabrication, digital global trade, supply chains, food processing advances, and free trade agreement dynamics.
Track Record of Previous Editions
The ongoing momentum builds upon the established success of previous trade shows. In the 2025 iteration, which was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, total visitor attendance reached 5,07,099 people, encompassing 1,40,735 business-to-business delegates. That event accommodated 2,228 participating enterprises across an exhibition footprint exceeding 35,000 square metres, while hosting over 550 overseas commercial representatives from 85 countries coordinated by FIEO.
