Department Director N. S. Rahmani, alongside four other officers, has been placed under immediate suspension. The punitive measures stem from an official investigation into arbitrary decision-making and irregularities linked to the implementation of the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana.
Irregularities in Tender Allocation and Land Management
The allegations against suspended Director N. S. Rahmani center on the unauthorized awarding of a fishing contract for the Rihand Reservoir located in Sonbhadra. The tender was granted without securing the required authorization from the Director General of Fisheries. Furthermore, Rahmani faced charges of failing to adequately protect and maintain department-owned land situated in Lucknow. Administrative reviews also revealed procedural lapses during his prior tenure as Deputy Director between 2020 and 2023, during which several project guidelines under the central scheme were bypassed.
