Highlighting the sweeping administrative changes in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a massive public gathering in Ballia and launched a scathing attack on opposition parties. He stated that the era of lawlessness has officially ended in the state, making way for robust infrastructure and inclusive growth.
Inauguration of Development Projects
During his visit to Ballia, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 80 development projects worth over 305 crore rupees. Addressing the crowd, he announced that a new medical college named after Baba Bhrigu is coming up in Ballia to bolster local healthcare infrastructure.
Cracking Down on Criminal Syndicates
Attacking the previous regimes, Yogi Adityanath declared that the concept of One District, One Mafia has been completely eradicated from Uttar Pradesh and replaced by One District, One Medical College. He asserted that criminals and mafia elements have either been crushed or relegated to prisons and hell, noting that earlier, miscreants backed by certain political outfits used to usurp the rights of the poor and compromise the security of daughters and traders.
Criticism of the Opposition and JPNIC
Targeting the alliance between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, the Chief Minister claimed that the Samajwadi Party has now become subservient to the same Congress that once shattered the dreams of Jayaprakash Narayan. Citing the example of the Jayaprakash Narayan International Centre in Lucknow, he pointed out that while the initial estimated cost was merely 200 crore rupees, the previous dispensation spent 864 crore rupees yet left the project incomplete, allegedly turning public funds into a hub for personal loot and luxury.
Transformation from a Backward State
The Chief Minister recalled that prior to 2017, parallel governments run by mafia dons dictated terms in Uttar Pradesh, earning the state labels like BIMARU state. He emphasized that the current administration has not only dismantled criminal networks but also eradicated encephalitis. According to him, the state previously lacked basic amenities, security, employment, housing, toilets, electricity, roads, and functioning schools, which had turned into dens for cheating.
Tackling the Encephalitis Crisis
Recalling the devastation caused by vector-borne diseases, the Chief Minister noted that the period between July 15 and November 15 used to bring terror to districts like Devoris, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Siddharthnagar, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Basti. He alleged that this was not just a disease but a reflection of the sick mindset of past governments, pointing out that over 40 years, 50,000 innocent lives were lost while leaders from the opposition never bothered to visit or inquire about the affected families.
