The shared content visually crossed out the word Mexico and replaced it with America.

He remarked that such a modification would feel considerably more respectful and appealing to the residents of that distinguished state, adding that he found the idea very appealing.

This discussion follows earlier remarks regarding the Strait of Hormuz amidst escalating tensions involving Iran. The American leader previously questioned why the crucial waterway should not be designated as the Trump Strait given current control dynamics, noting it would remain exceptionally active. He had previously published a map labelling the crucial passage as a new United States territory. The strait connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, serving as a vital artery for international oil and gas shipments.
Historical Precedents of Geographic Renaming
Attempts to alter regional designations are not unprecedented under the current administration. Amid trade disputes with Canada, instructions were issued to designate Lake Ontario as Lake America. Furthermore, an executive directive last year sought to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, prompting tech giants Apple and Google to update their digital mapping applications accordingly.
