A catastrophic industrial explosion rocked a manufacturing unit in the Sathyavedu assembly constituency of Tirupati district on Saturday. The tragedy struck inside a private factory situated at the Sri City industrial zone near Varadaiahpalem, where an operational boiler abruptly detonated during working hours. The devastating impact instantly claimed the lives of 5 factory workers and left more than 10 others with critical injuries.
Severe Blast Destroys Roofing and Triggers Blaze
The intensity of the detonation altered the entire plant within seconds. The shockwave dislodged heavy machinery and sent tin roofing sheets flying across considerable distances. Immediately following the blast, flames engulfed the facility, blanketing the surroundings in thick clouds of smoke. Utter chaos erupted across the floor as panicked laborers scrambled toward emergency exits to escape the inferno.
Emergency Evacuation and Medical Response
Rescue teams quickly mobilized to pull victims from the smoke-filled debris. Over 10 injured laborers, many bearing severe burns and trauma, were swiftly shifted to nearby healthcare facilities for intensive treatment. Plant authorities and local administration have initiated checks to determine the mechanical failure that led to the fatal pressure breach.
